It’s been a busy month for Alfred Hall. From Oslo to Liverpool, Liverpool to LA, LA to London, London to Oslo and back – twice.

Two weeks ago the band played their debut London gig at Music Week Breakout’s The Great Escape Special at the Camden Barfly. This week London’s calling again and so is Nordic showcase night Ja Ja Ja. Together with Rangleklods from Denmark and Shine 2009 from Finland, Alfred Hall will play some sweet heart-melting tunes at The Lexington. Please mark 30th May, 7:30pm, in your calendars with a bright highlighter. You are in for a treat!

In addition, the band was just confirmed to play the Hove festival in July and the Øya festival in August. Is that dope or what?

Waterfall has had some great years working with Ina Wroldsen and helping develop her into one of the pop world’s biggest songwriter names of today. Ina has written for artists and bands such as Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls, Leona Lewis, One Direction and The Saturdays. Waterfall has now sold their share of Ina’s publishing rights to Reverb Music.

We wish Ina all the best of luck in her new ‘home’ at Reverb where she will surely be well looked after!

Today, 6th May, the band is playing the Musexpo Main stage at the S.I.R Studios at 9pm. We hope to see you there!

The Waterfall Music LA songwriting camp ended on Friday 3rd May with a fun listening session where all songwriter teams played their creations for others to listen. This group of talented youngsters are something to follow. Hits on the way!

Yesterday was also the kick off for Musexpo’s panels. Waterfall’s MD, Kai Robøle, attended as a panelist in ‘The Art & Science of Defining Your Sound & Creating A Global Hit’. Later in the evening the Waterfall writers attended A&R roundtable meetings presenting the outcome of the previous week’s songwriting camp.

Greetings from LA folks! It is day 2 and the Waterfall Songwriting camp is in full action. On Monday evening the camp kicked off with a cosy networking dinner at Cravings.

The writers are working their magic in teams of 2-4 and hits are on their way. In addition to the Waterfall writers we have Elisabeth Carew, KoKo Laroo, Francci, Soaky, Andy Love, Kimera Morrell and Brandyn Burnette in the studios.

Only three nights left till Waterfall Music takes off to LA!

Sat Bisla from A&R Worldwide and Musexpo is arranging an A&R day for April 29^th during which Waterfall songwriters will network and search for interesting major label briefs for the camp. The songwriting camp itself lasts for four days from 30^th April to 3^rd May and the studio for the the camp will be ‘You People Studios’ in Burbank. On Sunday 5^th the songs from the camp will be presented at Musexpo’s A&R Summit.

Waterfall’s MD, Kai Robøle, describes the objectives for the camp: “There is always some skepticism about writing camps, as they generate relatively few hits. However the goal with our writing camps is not necessarily to create hit songs there and then, but to meet new people, network and create new collaborations for the future. If hit songs come out of the camp – that’s just a bonus! But the camp is just the start. Making sure everyone follows up, stays in contact, shares new information and develops these new relationships over time should be just as much a priority. The camp is the foundation but the building takes time.”

Waterfall is bringing 6 writers from Oslo as well as US artist/writer Brandyn Burnette (Warner US – Mike Caren), topliners Soaky (Rosina Russell) (Musicbully Management LA), Francci (Francesca Richard) (Nottinghill Music LA) and KoKo Laroo (Control Music Group). Waterfall writers include Caroline Ailin, Odd Harald Jensen, Øyvind Engebretsen, Torgeir Kristiansen and Ole Hegle. The company is also bringing along Norwegian artist Elisabeth Carew.

Together with M83, Susanne Sundfør created the title track for Hollywood movie Oblivion which is now out in the movies. On Wednesday night the team performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Big news, people!

Susanne Sundfør has cooperated with French electronic band M83 to create the title track for new Hollywood sci-fi movie ‘Oblivion’. The movie is starred by Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman, and is out on April 19th.

Congratulations to Ida Jenshus for winning her third Spellemann award, also known as the Norwegian Grammy, with ‘Someone To Love’ yesterday in Stavanger! We are very, very proud!

Waterfall’s managing director, Kai Robøle, was present at Spellemann 2012. He praises that the show was great and he had a fantastic time.
